steve's obituary



2/4/06 - Steven Victor Noce – Born/San Mateo - October 26. 1950

The youngest of five children born to Leroy & Irene Noce. Survived by Kathleen- his high school “sweet-heart” & wife of 34 years and their beloved children who made him SO proud: Tony- (SR Airman USAF/ Fire fighter, decorated SLV athlete in football& basketball, along with his wonderful wife Kelly and their precious daughter Adriana (the light of “Popop” Steve’s life ) - Daughter Stephanie -who shares his dynamic personality, birthdate-10/26-& love of HAWAII -Joe (Joseph) who played SLV high school football, basketball, baseball, college football & graduated from University of Santa Cruz.- youngest son Nick who is the first quarterback to take ARKANSAS STATE / Division 1- New Orleans BOWL GAME. Brothers Tony( Jeri ), Dan (Shelley), Mike and sister Diane…Many nieces & nephews who will miss him beyond measure. Beloved son-in –law to Al & Dolores Kelly- Hons.

Steve grew up in Shoreview, attended San Mateo High School- was a 1967 SMH Quarterback on the first -MPL Championship football team. He was a strong, hardworking, proud Tradesman/Carpet layer for 34 years. Lifelong friend and mentor to Steve Langridge- member of the “infamous” FOUR STEVE’S – Harvey, Greenfield, Noce & Langridge. He was a GREAT “CHEF” who LOVED entertaining family & friends, traveling with Kath & friends, music, playing the guitar with his “buddies”, watching his sons, nephews, nieces and friend’s kids play sports of ALL kind, but ESPECIALLY football. He was an SLV “chain gang” volunteer, a vocal presence in the stands at games all over the country! Friday night poker partner in the “Old Coaches Gang,”
27 year fishing buddy to Steve, Neil, Brian, Tim, Matt, Bob, Auggie, Gary, Mark and Jim. Good friends and traveling companions of Larry & Emily, Sally & Paul, Barbara and Bob, Linda and Bob.
Brother–in- law to Brian & Jan Kelly, Christine & Steve Langridge, Tim & Corinne Kelly, Aileen & Jon Petty, Neil & Diane Kelly, Cecilia & Jeff Wilson, Matt & Kathy Kelly, Jim Kelly. He recently fulfilled a dream of watching his son Nick play against Army, traveling to New York for the Thanksgiving Day Parade and seeing West Point.

Died suddenly in Burlingame, February 4, 2006 of Congestive Heart Failure.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, February 8th at The Hollins House, Clubhouse Way, Santa Cruz at 12pm
